Bursaspor of Turkey defender, Shehu Abdullahi has set his sight on a busy spell ahead of him for club and country, following his return from a long bout with injury.
Sports247.ng learnt that the former Sokoto United, Kano Pillars and Anathorsis Famagusta midfielder-turned-full-back was in action on Saturday, following almost three months out with injury, but he is already thinking of playing more matches.
Abdullahi said he was excited with the opportunity to finally rejoin action with his club, as the 25-year-old star played as an 80th minute substitute in Bursaspor’s 1-1 draw with Kayserispor.
It was his first game after suffering a thigh muscle complaint on duty with the Super Eagles against Libya on October 13 and bowed out after only 19 minutes of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
The fair-skinned lad, who was a key player for Bursaspor, after arriving from Anathorsis in January 2018, and helped the Turkish club to a 13th place finish in the past season, says he is now hoping for better thrills.
Abdullahi declared: “I feel good and happy about it. It’s a moment I have waited for since last year and I’m happy I can now play football again.
“It was a good moment for me to come in for the last few minutes and I hope to now work my way back into the starting 11.”
