The 30th Anniversary Celebration of the St. Finbarr’s College Old Boys Association (SFCOBA) 94Set began on a touching and inspiring note as members of the association visited the Modupe Cole Memorial Home in Akoka on December 5th, 2024.
Led by the Chairman of the 94Set, Ejike Nwabueze, the team brought not only gifts but also an abundance of love and care to share with the residents.
The visit, which formed part of the “Giving Back to the Community” initiative, was a testament to the association’s commitment to making a meaningful impact in society.
Ejike Nwabueze, in his address, expressed the importance of giving back, saying, “This is not just about sharing gifts; it is about sharing our hearts. These children remind us of the power of love and the difference we can make when we come together as a community.”
The team arrived at Modupe Cole Memorial Home carrying bags of essential items, including food supplies, toiletries, clothing, and educational materials. The gifts were warmly received by the staff and residents, who expressed heartfelt gratitude for the gesture.
The highlight of the visit was the moments shared between the SFCOBA members and the children. Songs, laughter, and games filled the air as the team took time to interact with the children, creating an atmosphere of joy and connection.
The smiles on the faces of the children and the heartfelt exchanges were evidence of the love and care the visit inspired.
One of the caregivers at the home remarked, “We are grateful for this visit. It’s not just the gifts but the presence of people who genuinely care that makes a difference to these children.”
The visit to Modupe Cole Memorial Home set the tone for the rest of the three-day celebration, showcasing the essence of the SFCOBA 94Set’s commitment to community, compassion, and service. As Ejike Nwabueze and the team departed, they left behind not only gifts but a renewed sense of hope and love in the hearts of the residents.
