The St. Finbarr’s College Old Boys Association (SFCOBA) 94Set concluded its 30th Anniversary Celebration with a breathtaking grand finale on December 7th, 2024, at the elegant White Stone Place.
The event was a night of pride, celebration, and nostalgia, with a mix of awards, music, and a documentary showcase highlighting the remarkable journey of the 94Set.
The celebration drew a large crowd, including many beloved teachers who had shaped the lives of the 94Set alumni. They were honored with heartfelt tributes and standing ovations, their impact still resonating decades later.
One of the night’s standout features was a high-quality documentary meticulously produced under the guidance of ID Cabasa, the Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee. The documentary traced the journey of the 94Set from their school days to their professional achievements, showcasing their contributions to society.
“We wanted to tell our story in a way that inspires the younger generation and reminds us all of the bond we share,” said ID Cabasa, who is also a renowned music producer.
The awards ceremony was another highlight, celebrating members who had excelled in fields like Entertainment, Sports, Commerce, Medical, Finance, Education, IT and Agriculture.
Immediate past Exco members were also recognized for their leadership and dedication.
Dr. Thaddeus Ugwueke, Chairman of the Anniversary Committee, expressed his gratitude, saying, “This celebration is a reflection of our legacy and the enduring spirit of St. Finbarr’s. We honor our past, celebrate our present, and embrace the future with hope and pride.”
The evening came alive with performances from a live band and a DJ, keeping guests on their feet with an electrifying mix of music.
The night also saw the inauguration of the new Exco, with outgoing chairman Ejike Nwabueze passing the torch.
“Our strength lies in our unity, and I am confident the new team will lead us to even greater heights,” Nwabueze said.
The SFCOBA 94Set grand finale was a perfect blend of nostalgia, celebration, and hope, reminding everyone of the powerful legacy they share.
