The Seyi Akinwunmi Charity Foundation has a longstanding tradition of providing grants to school children from all six geo-political zones in Nigeria.
The upcoming event, organized by a dedicated committee, is set to feature four boys’ and girls’ U-15 teams, showcasing the foundation’s commitment to fostering grassroots football development.
During a recent visit to the Maracana Stadium, the organizing committee finalized arrangements, ensuring a successful and engaging tournament for the young participants. The foundation expressed its goal of not only providing a platform for football but also making a positive impact on the lives of underprivileged children.

One of the key highlights of this year’s event is the foundation’s aim to feed 500 indigent children. Additionally, the foundation aims to raise funds to provide substantial support of at least N150,000 to 20 children from each of the six geographical zones in Nigeria.
Mrs. Jumoke Akinwunmi, speaking at the charity event, emphasized the importance of ensuring that every child in attendance has a fun and memorable experience.
“We should be intentional in our motives to ensure we give our best to the kids. We are giving out grants to some of them, but the target is that those who will not get the grants should also have an unforgettable experience along the line,” she stated.
The focus on bringing joy to the children aligns with Seyi Akinwunmi’s passion for making a positive impact in their lives. As the event approaches, excitement builds not only for the football action on the field but also for the meaningful contributions the foundation seeks to make in the lives of the participating youngsters.
