Ahead of Sunday’s final of the Seyi Akinwunmi Charity Foundation Football Tournament in Gombe, Nigeria Football Federation’s 1st Vice President, Bar. Seyi Akinwunmi was given a heroic welcome at the Gombe Airport on Saturday.
The Lagos FA Chairman who arrived at 2:45 pm was given a red-carpet welcome by the people of Gombe and the entire states from the North East.
Chairman of Gombe state FA, Yakubu Sarma, led the delegation from the region to give Akinwunmi a rousing reception.
The Seyi Akinwunmi Charity Foundation decided to stage the U-14 Youth tournament in Gombe this year as a way of giving succour to the indigent children in the entire North East.
The final match of the tournament will be between Mees Palace Academy from Jos Vs. IDP Camp Abugu Biu from Borno at the Gombe Stadium Pantami.
Before the final game, Central Primary School from Gombe will face Baban Mutum Primary School from Bauchi.
