The game was held at the iconic Tetlow Road Stadium Owerri, as Keke Oluebube, Ojialor Chiamaka, Ekene Ozegbe, and Okeafor Chisom were at their best as they confronted the more established premier league side.
Keke Oluebube caused the first scare of the game when she beat the defenders of the Imo State team as the goalkeeper did well to stop her from scoring the first goal of the game.
The workaholic midfielder, Ojialor Chiamaka was busy distracting the opponents all through the game while Ekene Ozegbe was solid in the sticks for the Anambra team.
The youngest player in the game, Okeafor Chisom gave Heartland hit woman, Lucky Mary a hell of a time until she was substituted while long-kick specialist, Okeafor Chisom marshaled the defense to stop the space for the Owerri ladies and with this result, the team now have 4 points from two games.
In the other games, Green Foot FA beat Giant Empress one-nil while Imo Strikers Queens continued their fine run in the competition with a 4-1 victory over Solo Wonders FC.
Matches will continue today as the local organizing committee has called for sponsors in the country to take advantage of the first-ever women’s championship in the zone to advertise their goods and services.
