Coach Garcia Pimienta of Sevilla Football Club has admitted Kelechi Iheanacho’s struggle and he is open to offer the best help, Sports247 reports.
Sevilla has found it hard to score goals this season with the Nigerian yet to score any goal in the LaLiga since he made the switch from Leicester FC to Sevilla in the summer.
Romero, the alternate striker is also firing blanks which has reduced the potency in the attack of the Spanish LaLiga side.
Speaking on Saturday ahead of their trip to the capital against Real Madrid on Saturday, Coach Pimienta admitted the struggles of his team in front of goals especially, how Kelechi Iheanacho, whom he brought in the summer to help solve the problem, has been struggling for form despite doing everything in training.
With nine games under his belt, the former Manchester City is yet to score any goal in the league.
A dry spell which has linked Kelechi, away from the club in the January window, an option coach Garcia Pimienta admitted he is willing to explore if it offers the best solutions for the player and the club.
Coach Garcia Pimienta said: “Kelechi trains well, he is very well liked by his teammates, he is even very respected.”
“For whatever reason, he is not getting the minutes that make you have continuity, perform better, but I think that when you give everything you have, even if things don’t go your way, I can’t say anything to him. We are here to help him.”
The coach explained further if he decided to leave in January and that’s the best solution , he will be happy to sanction the move.
“If Iheanacho decides to leave in the January market, an offer comes up or whatever. I am happy with him. That can be a turn around, it will all depend on us talking to each other and finding the best solution.”
Transfer gossips has linked Iheanacho with West Bromwich Albion but nothing concrete yet while Sevilla are also shopping for an another striker in January and if they are able to get one, that might open the quick exits door for Kelechi Iheanacho to leave the club.
Sevilla has only scored 18 goals in 17 matches and has conceded 22 goals.
They have a daunting task at Real Madrid FC on Sunday as the defending Champions seek to take advantage of Barcelona’s 2-1 loss on Saturday against Atletico Madrid.
