The Super Eagles Supporters Club, SESC, on Saturday for6th March, 2021, held a special event tagged ‘Time Out With The President’.
The programme, which was held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos Headquarters of the foremost supporters club in Nigeria, under strict observation of Covid-19 protocols.
The event, put together by the Okumagba led Supporters club executive, was an opportunity to induct new members as well as commence preparations for the upcoming Qualifying Matches by the Nigerian senior football team, the Super Eagles towards qualifications for Nations Cup and the World Cup.
According to Prince Vincent Okumagba, it was also an opportunity to reunite and rub minds after a long absence orchestrated by the Covid-19 lockdown and suspension of football activities across the world.
The well packaged event commenced with medical checks on the Club’s President, Prince Okumagba, all members present and other attendees. The exercise was done in collaboration with TopTee Medical Centre located at No. 40 Ogunlana Drive, Surulere area of Lagos, which came with a good number of its personnel to make the checks faster.
Speaking to newsmen, Prince Okumagba highlighted the expectations of Nigerians from the Super Eagles in their upcoming matches and outings. He also showered praise on Rev. Esther Ajayi and other good-spirited individuals, who had financially assisted the Club in no small ways in the past. He said that the Club will equally appreciate Government’s assistance as they continue to stand by and cheer the Super Eagles to success.
Highpoint of the event was the induction of new members and handing over of Aiteo branded Super Eagles jerseys to members. There was also enough to eat and drink as members of the Club’s band churned out melodious tunes to the delight of all. There was the induction of Victor Nwaribeaku the CEO of VCN Sports as a patron of SESC upon which the foremost sports equipment dealer declared his delight at joining the club and immediately donated the sum of one million naira to fund the club’s preparation for the trip to Port Novo to support the Super Eagles away to Benin Republic and the game at home to Lesotho in Lagos.
