Amodu Mustapha has been crowned as the highest goal scorer of the Seamoriow Sports U20 Super 8 Final tournament with a total of eight goals to his name.
Despite his team, North York failure to make it to the finals, Mustapha who scored eight goals in four games was presented with the golden boot award yesterday with the sum of one hundred thousand naira as cash reward for his exploits.
“I really appreciate the organizers of this tournament, I won the highest goal scorer award all thanks to them for the opportunity, the chairman and everyone involved in hosting this competition,” he said after the award presentation in an exclusive interview with Sports247.ng.
“Eight goals in four matches is quiet impressive for me but it can always be better. It hurts that we didn’t make it to the finals but we can say that we gave a good account of ourselves in this tournament, we are proud.”
“Kudos to the team who contributed to this success, my coach disciplinary ethics has been so crucial to my development, this award belongs to the team,” he added.
“I want to continue on this form, this motivation because there’s so much right ahead of me and for every opportunity given, I want to give my best.”
The striker who models his game after Barcelona’s talisman, Robert Lewandoski is hoping that a move to Europe will materialize for him someday in the future but he will keep developing and giving his best until the very end.
