Nigeria has become the best scrabble playing country in the world after their latest exploits in the just concluded West African Championship in Accra, Ghana.
Team Nigeria put on an impressive performance in the West African country to win 9 out of the 10 available awards at the tournament including the Most Valuable Player award won by Eta Oghenekaro.
Nigeria now boast of 8 players in the Top 20 Best Scrabble player rankings to emerge as the number one Scrabble playing nation in the world.
While receiving the victorious Team Nigeria in Abuja, the Ministry Of Youth and Sports Development Permanent Secretary, Ismaila Abubakar lauded the team for putting all their efforts in making the nation proud in the tournament despite facing difficulties.

He charged the team to find and groom young scrabble enthusiasts that will in no distant future replicate their feat, but also take it a notch higher and put Nigeria on the continental and world map of scrabble champions.”
