Scouting Champions Cup Gets A New Date *Main Organizer Describes Sports As A Big Business *Urges Investors To Invest Their Funds In Grassroots Sports

The 5-Day Scouting Champions Cup, which ought to start today (December 9) has now been shifted to commence on Monday (December 14).

Speaking with Sports247 on the postponement, Ehirim Emeka Godson, the main Organizer of the event appeal to the participating teams and fans for any inconvenience that the change in date might have cost them, that the rescheduling is for the good of the game.

“The stadium manager called me and actually was begging, that for us not to have any hinge or distraction, that Monday would be the best time to start the tournament that there is an information that an event would be holding at the field tomorrow”.

The event which holds twice every year, with the purpose of looking for young and potential talents in Nigeria, so as to expose them to Sports and send them to European clubs.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Sports 247, Emeka Godson, who is also the Chairman Depros FC has encouraged investors to invest their money in Grassroot Sports in Nigeria, as this was a pure business which would yield them a lot of earnings, as well as improving the Country’s economic standards.

“Sports is just pure business, that is just that. By the time our rich guys over here in the country begins to understand that by investing in Grassroot Sports, you have nothing to lose, rather you would gain, I think the better for us and you begin to see that things will come back to a normal shape in this country”, he concluded.

The Scouting event is set to commence on Monday (December 14).
