The stage is set for the maiden Sardauna U-16 Football Cup, as teams from the 16 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Kwara State compete for a ₦1 million prize pool, Sport247 reports.
The tournament, scheduled to hold from January 27 to February 5, 2025, at the Kwara State Stadium Complex, Ilorin, aims to honor Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his outstanding contributions to sports development.
Organized by Ultimate Sports Consult in partnership with the Kwara State Sports Commission, the competition promises to be an exciting display of young football talents.
The CEO of Ultimate Sports Consult, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Owolabi Wopa, expressed commitment to making the competition an annual event, ensuring adequate medical and security measures are in place.
*Prizes and Awards*
The top three teams will receive five hundred thousand as cash prizes million naira for the first place, ₦300,000 for the second place, and ₦200,000 for the third place.
Individual awards will be presented for, Most Valuable Player (MVP), Highest Goal Scorer, Best Goalkeeper.

The 16 teams have been divided into four groups, Group A consists of Irepodun LG Team, Ilorin East Team, Baruten LG Team, Asa LG Team.
