Sarah Iloduba, one of Rivers Angels’ standout players, expressed her immense joy as Rivers Angels reaffirmed their dominance in Nigerian football by winning the President Federation Cup for the ninth time on Saturday.
Speaking to Sports 247 after the match, Sarah was excited over this achievement, noting the collective effort and hard work that led to their success.
“I’m very very excited. As you can see, my voice is gone from shouting. I’m really happy to be a champion.” She said.
The team’s journey to this victory was driven by the disappointment of narrowly missing out on the Super Six.
They channelled all their motivation and energy into securing the President Federation Cup, which holds significant importance in the history of Nigerian football.
Speaking on what drives the Rivers Angels to consistent success, Iloduba credited the high desire to win from the players and the unwavering support from key figures, including the Commissioner, Barista Green, and the Governor.
Their combined efforts have been instrumental in motivating and supporting the team. “The desire to win from the players is high. I must thank the commissioner, Barrister Greene and the Governor. They have been supporting and motivating us. Everyone worked hard to achieve this success.”She said.
Looking ahead, Iloduba plans to take a well-deserved break to clear her head after an intense eight months of competition.
She intends to relax and refresh before deciding on her next steps, emphasizing the need for some downtime to recharge.
