During his interview with the club website after his signature, he ecstatically showed his joy, he said “I am extremely happy to play for FC Porto. I can’t explain it, but I am thrilled to wear this shirt.”
“I hope to do a good job and help the team. We are going to win everything this season.”
In his message to the fans, he said, “the club and the fans can expect me to give everything. I received a lot of messages from FC Porto fans, and that made me happy.”
On future talks with Sérgio Conceição, “I still haven’t talked to him, but I’m sure we will talk a lot. From now on, he’s my coach, so we will be talking a lot, I’m sure. I’m extremely motivated to start working.”
Zaidu reinforces FC Porto and signed for five seasons, until 2025. The Nigerian left fullback, 23 years old, arrived in Portugal in 2016 to play for Gil Vicente, but was loaned to Mirandela for two seasons (2016/17 and 2017/18). In 2018/19, having signed for Mirandela, he played 35 matches for the club from Bragança, scoring three goals and putting on good performances, which caught the eye of Santa Clara.
In Azores, in the long 2019/20 season, the fast and powerful left fullback played 27 goals and scored a goal. Starting today, Zaidu plays for the national champions, FC Porto, and is the third new arrival in the squad led by Sérgio Conceição, following Cláudio Ramos and Carraça.
