Enyimba International, Samuel Kalu has penned an emotional farewell to the Aba-based club following his exit after a successful 2022/23 season where the club won the NPFL title and also qualified for CAF Champions League.

After winning a record ninth NPFL title at the Championship Playoffs in June, Finidi George’s team has now released 11 players as they look to put the team in shape for a title defense next season
Not just Kalu, eight players left the club following the expiration of their contract, while three others were released on mutual consent.
Samuel Kalu’s farewell message to Enyimba:
“Thank you, Enyimba FC for your support, belief, and trust in me. It was a great privilege to be part of the team, thank you for the good and bad moments, in all, it makes me a better person.”
“For the success I have achieved with the club, it will forever remain in my heart, I have to say goodbye but I’m one of you because wherever I am, I will always show my support,” he assured.
“I also want to thank the coaches, the management and the club supporters thank you Enyimba FC.”
The players who left following the expiration of their contracts are; Emeka Obioma, Phillip Ozor, Chigozie Obasi, Adekunle Adeleke, Fatai Abdullahi, Samuel Kalu, and Sadiq Abubakar.
Moses Omodemuke, Ademola Adebambo, and Othuke Egbo were released by mutual consent.
The Peoples Elephants are currently preparing for their CAF Champions League first-round contest against Al Ahli Benghazi of Libya.
