Following his switch to Libyan side Al-Nasr Ly Club of Benghazi from Enyimba, versatile winger Samson Obi has pledged his commitment to ensuring the club wins the Libyan Super cup.
Obi’s move to Libya ended speculations about his future with Enyimba, a club he joined from neighbors, Abia warriors.
Speaking with the club’s media in his first media interaction, Obi said he is already in love with the club supporters, “This is amazing, I can tell you this is the most amazing fans I have ever seen ever since I was playing football, I really don’t know the songs they are chanting, but I love it because it inspires me”.
Obi said, “I want to tell the fans I will give my best and do everything to make sure we are the champions, I heard we have not won the super league for a long time, but together I believe we can achieve this because I’m here to make history with the club”.
Signed to Al-Nasr Ly Club in an undisclosed fee, the contract is expected to keep the one-time Delta Force player with the Libyan side for two years.
Obi will be hoping to impress the Benghazi-based side who he has already kicked off training a day after his arrival.
Before moving to Libya, Obi was a pick for Enyimba coach, Fatai Osho both in the CAF Confederation Cup and the Nigeria Professional Football league.
