No fewer than eight teams are taking part in the ongoing Samjason FC scouting football tournament in Lagos.
The scouting programme which kicked off on Sunday at the Alade stadium, Ipaja Command would come to an end on Friday morning.
Speaking with sports247.ng the FIFA Licensed Players Agent from Poland, Tomaz KACZMARCZYK has commended Samjason Sports Management and Football Club for this laudable project which attracted teams from Lagos and the Imo States.
The Polish agent was pleased with the quality of teams participating in the programme while expressing optimism that some of the talents will get the opportunity to play for Europe clubs at the end of the exercise.
In his own comment, the Scouting programme coordinator who doubles as proprietor of Samjason Football Club, Samuel Uchenna Eke said the programme was organised to support grassroots teams by providing avenues for the youngsters to showcase their talents.
Eke added that bringing the football agent from Poland to Lagos is a huge opportunity for participating clubs adding that the ambition of the organizers is to ensure that some young players are selected by the agent at the end of the exercise.
“I must say that all the teams selected for the programme gave a good account of themselves and we have seen some players who are exceptionally good which I believe they would go for trials in Europe. For now,the agent and our partners have pencilled down some names and we are still looking at these players until the last day before we can come out with our findings,”he said.
Poland-based Nigerian International, Martins Ekwueme who is among the Scouting programme team said he was impressed with the standard of play by the participating teams and noted that there are talented players who need support to achieve their dreams.
The former Under 21 National team player assured that selected youngsters will be supported to join professional clubs in Europe.
Among the Lagos-based clubs taking part in the programme are Samjason FC Senior and Academy teams, SGH Sports Academy, Pro Sports One FC and Flying Wings FC, while the teams from Owerri include Kingsobel Academy, Dynamic Academy and Divine Masses FC.
