Super Eagles international and Real Sociedad forward, Sadiq Umar has suffered an injury to his right knee following the Laliga match against Getafe yesterday, the club confirmed.
The Nigerian international couldn’t continue the game as he was substituted in the 38th minute as Real Sociedad eventually lost out on a 2-1 scoreline.
Having arrived from newly promoted CD Almeria, Sadiq Umar opened his scoring account on his debut against Athletico Madrid to snatch a point for his side and has since settled well in the top-flight Spanish league.
The club in an official website statement revealed the extent of his injury, “He suffered a twist in his right knee during the Getafe-RS match, held yesterday, 09-11-2022.
“The MRI done this morning shows a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament. It is a subsidiary lesion of surgical treatment. In the next few days, it will be reported.”
He will therefore start treatment with physiotherapy and personalized work
