Recently, there has been information emanating from Europe concerning a couple of Nigerian players who are doing well in Europe’s top-flight leagues. Top of the chat is super eagles top striker, Victor Osimhen, and the like. But as the stage is set for Osimhen to leave, French Ligue 1 giants Lille are set to make a move for two Nigerian strikers Sadiq Umar and Brown Ideye as a possible replacement for Victor Osimhen and teammate, Loic Remy who are certain to leave the club.
Osimhen and Loic Remy enjoyed prolific season together with the French side last campaign, but both players are now on the verge of joining Italian teams ahead of the next campaign. Osimhen and Remy are currently in Italy to seal their proposed move to Napoli and Benevento respectively. While Remy has undergone medical with the newly-promoted side, Osimhen arrived Naples On Tuesday and discussion continues ahead of proposed 75 million pounds transfer.
Meanwhile, Lille are wasting no time to replace the duo as they have a target in form Umar Sadiq who is currently banging in the goals for Serbian side Partizan Belgrade and Brown Ideye who just left Ariz Thessaloniki.
Sadiq, who’s yet to make his Super Eagles debut has scored 18 goals in all competitions for the club this season and he’s one of the reasons they leading the table in Serbia.
The club however valued him at 15 million Euros and Lille won’t have a problem matching their asking price.
Ideye on his part could arrive at the club on a free transfer after rejecting a new offer from the Greek side Aris Thessaloniki.
