Damilare Orimoloye, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Sports, has expressed admiration for the Showtime Flag Football League at the Showtime Arena in Lekki, Lagos,Sports247 reports.

The league has drawn enthusiastic crowds every Sunday, showcasing a fresh and dynamic side of football that captivates both boys and girls.
Orimoloye, a special guest at the venue last Sunday, described the league as a progressive engagement of youth, bringing business opportunities and development. “It’s really wow,” he said. “Seeing another side of football like this is lovely and a welcome development.”
The Special Adviser emphasized that the Lagos State Government is open to supporting innovative movements like Showtime Flag Football, which gather youth, keep them productive, and bring business opportunities.
“Lagos is a home of innovations,” he said. “Anything progressive that gathers our youth, keeps them away from street vices, and makes them productive, we support it,” Damilare told Sports247.
Damilare affirmed that the government will continue to prioritize youth development through sports and tech initiatives, highlighting that flag football aligns with the administration’s vision of nurturing safe, empowered, and innovative communities.
“For this, I can say the game ticks all the boxes,” he said. “We will surely find a way to make this sport a part of our culture.”
