It was a fun-filled cycling event where cyclists came out in mass with their various bicycles as the Rotary Club of Ikeja-Alausa on Saturday 27th November 2021 held a cycling rally event at the National Stadium Lagos to help raise funds and create awareness in polio eradication.
Polio is transmitted through contaminated water or food, or contact with an infected person. Many people who are infected with the poliovirus don’t become sick and have no symptoms. However, those who do become ill develop paralysis, which can sometimes be fatal. Treatment includes bed rest, pain relievers, and portable ventilators.
Rotarian Shola Ayanwale PHF, the chairman, Rotary Foundation of Rotary Club Of Ikeja-Alausa in an interview with sport247.ng expresses his gratitude to partners, Rotarians, and every other individual that made the event a huge success.
