Nigeria Coach Gernot Rohr was in decidedly bullish mood ahead of Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers versus Libya, reports Sports247.ng
The Super Eagles will host the Mediterranean Knights in Uyo, charged with hauling back leaders Libya, who top Group E after a win and draw in two games.
“I’m just thinking of our team,” the former Niger Republic gaffer told Sports247.ng. “The teams that have won the games have deserved to. Luckily, the football field always puts everyone in their place.
“I will choose the best eleven and can guarantee we will compete. We are the Super Eagles, and with our quality and our weapons, we to have take the game forward.”
The Franco-German preferred not to say whether there were any Libya players he’d like in his side.
“They are a very well balanced team and have some interesting players. But now is not the time to talk about players I’d like to have.”
The Eagles, who occupy third spot with three points are aiming for their second win in the qualifiers on Saturday.
