Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr says he is targeting a very successful outing at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations, sports247.ng reports.
As soccer fans across the continent await the announcement of a new venue for the championship by Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) on Wednesday, Rohr has hinted that his team will shine where it is staged.
The Franco-German tactician admitted he has a young team, which many critics believe is inexperienced to emerge champions, but Rohr insists his lads will make Nigerians proud this summer.
Rohr affirmed on social media that he will try his utmost best to see the team do well at AFCON 2019 and declared that his New Year message to Nigerians is that they are in for a successful football season.
“Obviously its a big year for Nigerian football. Let’s have a great football season with a successful AFCON.
“My squad is still improving but I believe our young team will work hard to make Nigerians proud,” Rohr stated.
