Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr has thanked Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for putting place adequate preparations for the team’s Africa Cup of Nations first leg qualifier against Libya.
With the match now billed to hold next Saturday, October 13 at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Rohr said he is happy that the NFF have taken into consideration of his requests for the Eagles.
It would be recalled that Rohr expressed worries that playing the match at Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kadunba could pose a problem for his side’s search for victory against the defensive conscious Libyans, and the Franco-German gaffer is now happy that the NFF accepted to seek a new venue for the game.
Speaking against the approval by Confederation of African Football (CAF) to the NFF’s request of a change in match venue, Rohr said he is happy that all his plans for the match are on course.
The Eagles are now scheduled to host Libya at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in their Group E matchday three clash of the AFCON 2019 qualifiers, ahead of which Rohr reeled out his list of invitees on Monday.
Rohr further disclosed that has also started planning strategies for the second leg of the double-header, now billed for Sfax, Tunisia on Monday, October 16.
Rohr further disclosed that the technical crew began preparations for both games against Libya immediately after beating Seychelles in the last game.
He added that the Eagles know the danger of losing or drawing any of the forthcoming matches with Libya, hence the need to make everything conducive for them.
Rohr said: “I am happy that the Nigeria Football Federation has taken care of everything the team requires for the match to ensure hitch-free preparations for the games.”
