Initial expectations of Nigeria hosting Seychelles in their last Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba have been hit with another blow, following reports gathered by sports247.ng that Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr does not fancy the arena.
Akin to his initial remarks that the arena was too small to host a to-grade international match, which stop the idea of taking the match against Libya there, Rohr has now taken a swipe at the pitch.
Reports reaching sports247.ng from Asaba indicate that Rohr was not satisfied seeing the playing surface during the Federation Cup final and says more work should be done on the pitch for it to host the Eagles.
“It’s a nice stadium but they have to work more on the pitch. The pitch is not really good for Super Eagles games,” the Franco-German gaffer said.
