Leicester City manager Brenda Rogers believes Wilfred Ndidi and his teammates were better than Arsenal and deserved their victory over the Londoners.
Leicester won back-to-back home league games against Arsenal for the first time since November 1983 when they beat the Gunners 3-0 at the Kingpower stadium on Sunday.
Brendan Rodgers praised his the attitude of his boys after the game and dismissed the suggestion from Arsenal’s manager Unai Emery that the sending off of Maitland-Niles weakened his team.
“Firstly our defence was nice and aggressive and we pressed the game really well.”
“When it was 11 v 11 I thought we were the better team.”
“There were areas we could be better in but the energy, pressing, quailty and three outstanding goals.”
“I’m very pleased we got our reward for our hard work.” Rogers said.
