Nigeria’s champions, Rivers United team captain, Festus Austin is optimistic that the Rivers State based club will have a positive result come Sunday’s encounter with Liberian clubside Watanga FC at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Rivers State Nigeria. The CAF Champion’s League is set to begin it’s first preliminary round and the first leg will be held in the oil rich state, home of Rivers United.
The energetic footballer has weighed the chances of his side and is really hopeful to see Rivers United emerge winners of the game, however, has not ruled out a possible pressure coming with a continental engagement. “We have a big game few days from now and we are going to attend to the game and we are looking forward to having a positive result. Rivers United became league winners in the just concluded Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL 2021/2022 season with 77 points while Watanga FC also came tops in the Liberian first division league with 42 points having lost 6 matches but drew just 3 along the campaign.
