The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL Matchday 12 will be ignited with the top of the table clash in Ikenne on Sunday between Rivers United and Remo Stars, Sports247 reports.
The fight for the top of the log has been a back and forth for the two teams as one point separates the two teams with Remo Stars on 23 points and Rivers United on 22 points.
This Sunday’s fixture provides an opportunity for Remo Stars to extend their lead if they can take maximum home advantage while Rivers United will have the opportunity to flex their title credentials muscle once again having lost two back to games in the last two weeks after their superb early season run of nine matches without a loss.
Meanwhile coach Finidi George knows the enormous task of getting a point on a pitch which has become a fortress for the homers of which any less than a draw will surely put the former Super Eagles winger under pressure.
“We will get back, we will see where to make that adjustments and get the players back. Sometimes things like this happen. We have to get back on track because we are facing Remo Stars next in the league,” Finidi said.
Remo Stars will be without their chief coach Daniel Ogunmodede who is with Super Eagles in Uyo as they prepare for the final day match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Amavubis of Rwanda.
