The Hoopers, widely regarded as the most dominant Nigerian basketball franchise of the last decade, are gunning for yet another milestone as they bid for their seventh national crown and a return ticket to the elite Basketball Africa League (BAL).
Koko, a seven-time NPBL champion himself, said the team is approaching the Final Four with laser-sharp focus and championship-level urgency.

“This time around, everyone is ready; everyone is mentally prepared,” the captain said. “We know what’s at stake, and our mindset is clear—this is not about showing up to have fun. We’re a championship team, and we want to retain that title.”
The KingsMen, who went unbeaten in their 2023 and 2024 championship runs, will battle Lagos Legends, Gboko City Chiefs, and Nigeria Customs for the 2025 title. All three challengers have shown strong form this season, setting the stage for one of the most competitive Final Fours in recent years.
Despite the stiff competition, Koko believes Port Harcourt’s home crowd and the team’s experience in high-pressure games will give the Hoopers an extra edge.
“It’s on my mind day and night—Hoopers Champions,” he said. “Our fans should trust us. We’re playing at home, and we’re going to make them proud.”
With the city gearing up for the high-stakes showdown, Port Harcourt fans are eager to see whether the KingsMen can extend their dominance and cement their legacy as Nigeria’s undisputed basketball powerhouse.
The 2025 NPBL Final Four promises intensity, rivalry, and potentially, another chapter in the Hoopers’ championship dynasty.
