Flying officer cup flew in flying colours – Matilda Otuene
The GM of Rivers Angels football club who also doubles as the Chairman of female club owners Association, Mrs Matilda Otuene Oyiloha has overwhelmingly commended the president of Naija Ratels football club of Markudi Barr Paul Edeh on the success of the just-concluded Flying Officer’ cup held in Abuja in Honour of the late Tolulope Arotile’ the first female Airforce combat pilot that lost her life at the young age of 24 years.
The flying officer cup 2020 edition had 5 premier League clubs in attendance with 3 others from the lower league.
” I congratulate Barr Paul Edeh on the massive value he has added to the women’s game via this honourable tournament and the recent additions of Naija Ratels and Honey badgers FC into the league system.
The organisation was top notch and could compete with any point scoring tournament in Africa.
The highly-rated football guests that graced the final match which was eventually won by Bayelsa Queens showed class and popularity of the tournament.
We have not witnessed a preseason tournament of this class before” She stated.
Rivers Angels were absent in the tournament which would have served as a testing ground for players as the league is set to commence soonest.
” We tried all we could to be part of it but as a state-owned team we had to follow due process in pursuance of approval for all we need for the league but nevertheless the league Champions are ready for the league and hope to be part of the next edition of the flying officer cup.
