Ruqqayah, a student at the University of Ilorin, is among the 75 student-athletes selected from 22 universities to represent Nigeria in various sports disciplines at an upcoming competition.
The trials, held in Benin City, Edo State, saw the selection of a diverse group of athletes who will proudly represent their nation. The competition, scheduled to take place from July 27 to August 8, will be held in Chengdu, China, where Nigeria will compete alongside other nations.
Ruqqayah Mustapha shared her experience of initially facing stigmatization when she ventured into discus throwing.
