The 25-year-old international striker for England, Rinsola Babajide joins the blue and white discipline to reinforce the lead, coming from Real Betis.
Rinsola Omowunmiajike Ajike Babajide (London, June 17, 1998), known sportingly as Babajide, is the third addition to UDG Tenerife ahead of the 23-24 season. The English forward with Nigerian descent signs for two seasons, until June 2025, to complete the forward of the team led by José Herrera.
The new blue and white attacker arrives on the island after two seasons at Real Betis, in which she scored ten goals (nine in the F League and one in the Queen’s Cup). Previously, she was part of the historic English Liverpool FC for four seasons (between 2018 and 2021 and being named best player of the 19-20 season), Brighton & Hove Albion in the 21-22 campaign (on loan from Liverpool), Watford (17- 18), Milwall (15-16) and Crystal Palace.
Babajide has been international for England in the under-19, under-20 and under-21 categories, playing four games in the Under-20 World Cup held in France in 2018, where he won the bronze medal. A year later he managed to score two goals, in the victories against China (0-3) and the Netherlands (4-1) with the U21 team. She was also called up by the senior team for training sessions in 2020.
The London striker stands out for her efficient mobility away from the box and association with the ball dominated, behind the rival defense or starting from positions in the creation zone. In addition, he has a good passing game thanks to his 1.74-meter height and can play both the role of striker and winger in the offensive field.
The new blue and white player says she is very excited, “I’m looking forward to competing again with my new colors and doing my best for my team. I know that it is a very familiar club and that was noticeable every time I competed against UDG Tenerife, so hopefully I can get the best out of the club and the club can get the best of me, so we can progress together and achieve great things”.
