Super Falcons forward Rinsola Babajide netted a consolation goal for Costa Adeje Tenerife in their 4-1 defeat against Real Madrid in the Spanish Primera División de la Liga de Fútbol Femenino.
Babajide scored from the penalty spot in the 35th minute after Real Madrid’s Linda Caicedo conceded a foul inside the box.

The goal was significant as it marked the first time Real Madrid had conceded all season.
However, Babajide’s effort wasn’t enough to turn the tide, as Real Madrid had already stamped their authority on the match with two early goals.
Caroline Moller opened the scoring, followed by a goal from Caicedo to give the Madrid side a comfortable lead.
Moller added her second just before halftime, extending the margin to 3-1. Real Madrid maintained control in the second half, and Filippa Angeldal completed the rout with a fourth goal.
Despite the loss, Babajide will look to inspire her team when Costa Adeje Tenerife faces Real Betis in their next match on October 8, 2024.
The Tenerife side will hope to bounce back from the defeat and improve their position in the league standings.
