Richard Felix Named MVP as Nembe LGA Wins Bayelsa Kids Cup

Richard Felix of Nembe Local Government Area (LGA) has been named the Most Valuable Player of the 7th edition of the Bayelsa Kids Cup tournament.

Nembe LGA triumphed over Yenagoa LGA with a decisive 2-0 victory to claim the 2024 title.

Reflecting on the victory, Felix shared, “We came prepared knowing fully well that with adequate preparation on our own side and focus, we can go home with the trophy. And I’m happy that we eventually picked the trophy. We are the winner of this year’s edition.”

The Bayelsa Kids Cup, an annual tournament designed to provide young footballers with a competitive platform, culminated on Children’s Day, making the event even more special. Felix emphasized the significance of this opportunity for young talents. “Kids Cup is a tournament that they give to us kids to play and see the final being played on Children’s Day,” he noted.

Felix’s aspiration to reach the highest levels of football was evident in his remarks. “As a young player, it is my dream to see myself at the highest level and I will keep training hard and remain focused,” he said. “I’m happy that we have this platform to showcase our talent.”
