In an exciting development in Benue State, the Football Association has taken a significant step towards reviving the illustrious BCC Lions Football Club of Gboko.
With the aim of enhancing the state’s football landscape and alleviating pressure on the sole elite club, Lobi Stars, the Chairman of the association, Paul Edeh, has set the wheels in motion to bring back the defunct club to its former glory.
To spearhead this ambitious rebirth, Paul Edeh has appointed a dynamic team of football enthusiasts who will be instrumental in charting the club’s revival course.
Heading the team is the experienced Vice Chairman of Lobi Stars, Dominic Iorfa, who brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for the sport. Alongside him, Abdul Sule has been named Vice Chairman, while Felix Pilakyah, Charles Iortyom, Emma Abah, Moses Ukpo, and Moses Kpakor join the efforts as dedicated members.
Iorgulum Malu, taking on the role of Secretary, will play a pivotal part in ensuring seamless coordination among the team members.
This is not the first attempt to resurrect BCC Lions, as history records a previous effort in 2007, which unfortunately met a natural end despite the involvement of business mogul Aliko Dangote.
However, with a renewed spirit and a strong team in place, the Football Association is optimistic about overcoming previous challenges and restoring the club to its former glory.
The move to revamp BCC Lions Football Club marks an exciting chapter in Benue State’s football legacy, and football fans across the region eagerly anticipate witnessing the club’s resurgence on the field.
With passion, dedication, and support from football enthusiasts and stakeholders, the rebirth of BCC Lions holds the promise of enriching the football landscape in Benue State and leaving an indelible mark on the beautiful game.
