The National Chairman of Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Ambassador (Rev). Samuel Ikpea has reiterated his unflinching desires to take football supportership to higher heights, particularly, during the forthcoming 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup.
He made this known to journalists during a chat at the Headquarters of the Nigeria’s foremost fans club in Surulere, Lagos at the weekend.
Ikpea who is one of the few chosen global football fan leaders for the World Cup received the fan souvenir from the Supreme Committee For Delivery and Legacy, the organisation responsible for the venues, infrastructure and host country operations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in partnership with the Qatar Football Association (QFA).
The souvenir which he later don to the admiration of the people present include jersey, bags, caps, the official ball for the World Cup and several other interesting items.
An elated Ikpea said: ” It is painful that Nigeria missed out of participating in the forthcoming FIFA World Cup in Qatar, however, the country shall be well and proudly represented during the World Cup matches.
“As an appointed global leader by the Supreme Committee For Delivery and Legacy, I shall not be representing the NFSC, Nigeria and Africa only, but the global fans base, as well. This is due recognition for our country as a leading football nation and of course, for the NFSC, as the foremost football fans club in Nigeria and Africa,” Ikpea remarked gleefully.
