Sources close to Ajibola Otegbeye says the striker is relaxed over his future despite several reports linking him with a move to Plateau United, reports Sports247.ng.
According to the sources, Otegbeye who defended the colours of Sunshine Stars in the 2017/18 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) is a free agent.
The former Shooting Stars, ABS and Akwa United striker has been linked with a reunion with coach Abdu Maikaba at Plateau United.
“Ajibola Otegbeye hasn’t signed for Plateau United according to the rumors that is being circulated everywhere,” sources close to the former Shooting Stars forward told Sports247.ng.
“His contract with Sunshine Stars expired at October 2018 and they haven’t paid him his contract fee.”
“The club want him to sign another contract without talking or paying him the previous one.”
“He hasn’t signed for any team because people are saying he went to reunite with his father Abdu Maikaba at Plateau United.”
“The truth is that Otegbeye is a free agent for now. He is appealing to Sunshine Stars to fulfil their contractual agreement to him. He is much available to them as soon as they are ready to do what’s right.”
“The loan fee is the most important thing if they want him to sign a new contract for them. For the salary they have agreed on how they will be paying, so that’s no problem.
