The second edition of the NPFL/La Liga U15 Promises currently going on in Remo Stadium, Ikenne Ogun State has seen 20 NPFL teams compete and has received applause from followers.
The competition has seen the group stages complete and teams are observing a day’s rest as they prepare for the knockout stages tomorrow, the coach of Remo U15 Olowookere Olawale, praised the idea as good for the development of players in Nigeria.
“It’s my second participation as a coach. It’s good for the development of youth football in Nigeria if more clubs can prepare their teams better because not all 20 teams were able to present their U15 teams,” he told Sports247.
“But if this competition continues to hold in subsequent years, we can have teams getting their team ready and it will be good for the development of youth football,” he said.
Remo Stars U15 already qualified for the quarter-finals with a game to spare after winning their first two games 5-0 and 3-1 respectively.
