Remo Stars Soar Past Enyimba, Extend NPFL Lead With Statement Win

With Coach Daniel Ogunmodede back from Super Eagles duty, the Sky Blue Stars looked sharp and determined in front of their home fans in Ikenne. The breakthrough came in the 27th minute, just moments after Ahmed Akinyele’s goal-line clearance denied Enyimba an early lead. Akinyele then turned provider, beating two defenders before squaring the ball for Adedayo Olamilekan, who coolly slotted home.

The home side kept up the pressure, with Sikiru Alimi narrowly missing a second goal early in the second half.

But Ogunmodede’s tactical masterstroke in the 62nd minute—introducing three fresh legs—sealed the win. New signing Samson Olasupo needed just one touch to make his mark, firing a low drive into the bottom corner after another brilliant run from Olamilekan.

His joyful sprint to the bench to embrace the coaching staff embodied the team’s unity and hunger.

Enyimba pushed for a late comeback, but Remo Stars’ defensive discipline kept them at bay, securing a massive three points in their title charge. With 60 points and a game in hand, they are now in firm control of their destiny.
