It was celebration time for Remo Stars but it was also a period of reflection for certain players who started the year playing for the U17 side in the TCC and then got into the senior team and helped the side gain promotion, now it’s looking forward to the NPFL.
Ebenezer Akinsanmo, Remo’s creative midfielder took time to reflect on the season in retrospect with Sports247 from winning the TCC League to gaining promotion into the countries top flight from the NNL.
“I feel very happy. It’s a different experience from the TCC and the NPFL. From the youth team to Remo main team, it’s a huge step and I’m really grateful for the opportunity,” Ebenezer told Sports247.
Ebenezer is one of seven youth players who started off the season in the TCC and found their way into the senior team, playing in the NNL Super 8 in Enugu and he reflects on the pressure that came with the position.
“It’s a different ball game but I got a lot of encouragement from my coaches. The experience was different but I am happy for it,” he said.
With all the rapid progress within a football season, quizzed about his goals for the pretty looking future, Ebenezer told Sports247
“I really appreciate where I am now and I know the management of this club are making plans to make things easier for us as young players so I’m in no hurry,” he said.
