Sodiq Ismail is an integral part of the Super Eagles B team, he scored the opening goal in the 3-1 defeat of Black Galaxies of Ghana in Uyo to help Nigeria qualify for the 2024 CHAN competition due for February 2025.

If the deal scales through the speedy wing back will miss the 2024
CHAN tournament as the competition is for players who play in their domestic league.

Ismail caught the attention of the Nigeria Premier Football League followers in the 2023/2024 season where he made over 13 assists as a defender and helped Remo Stars to a second spot finished on the log.

The highly rated wing back work rate was noticed by coach George Finidi and invited him to the Super Eagles camp and also won his first cap during Finidi’s short reign as the Super Eagles coach

Ismail has continued to develop in his game by not just assisting goals but also has added goal scoring into his skills set.
