Remo Stars Count On Lama For Victory Against Heartland, Junior Nduka Gives Vote Of Confidence

Remo Stars FC of Ikenne will on Sunday count on their assistant coach, Sulaiman Kamil Folarin (aka Lama) to marshal their squad to victory against Heartland of Owerri in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), Sports247 reports.

All eyes will be on ‘Lama’ at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, as the club’s main gaffer, Daniel Ogunmodede will be away at the Super Eagles’ camp, which will open same day in far away Kigali, Rwanda ahead of Friday’s FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifier.

While Ogunmodede will be away on national team assignment in Rwanda, former Super Eagles’ winger, Emmanuel Amuneke should be available and lead The Naze Millionaires to Ikenne with high hopes of upsetting the NPFL log leaders in the absence of their coach.

However, Remo Stars’ captain, Junior Nduka, who was named in the Eagles’ initial provisional list of 39 players, boasted that Amuneke will be in for a big shock on Sunday, as he believes ‘Lama’ is capable of churning out winning tactics for the aspiring champs.

Although Nduka admitted he and his colleagues would surely miss Ogunmodede, as they are used to his motivating presence and effective instructions from the sidelines, the skipper concluded with a resounding verdict that their assistant coach is equally up to the task.

“We all know the importance of a coach standing on the touchline. We know how important it is and how effective the boys will play with the coach standing there. We will definitely miss that.

But, at the same time, that’s why we have an assistant coach. In every organisation, we have an assistant, somebody who can replace the main person in charge. It’s someone who the person in charge believes can definitely take over and do the job well,” Nduka rationalised.
