Dayo Ojo, a former home-based Super Eagles midfielder, is set to join ASVO FC in Benin Republic. As a free agent, Ojo will sign a one-year contract with the Beninese club, which is managed by Fatai Osho, the former head coach of Enyimba and Akwa United.

Ojo’s move to ASVO FC comes after reported interest from Nigeria’s Shooting Stars, who made efforts to sign the experienced midfielder. However, Ojo chose to pursue an opportunity abroad, adding an international chapter to his career.

Ojo has a distinguished history in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), having played for notable clubs such as Sunshine Stars and Enyimba. His performance at these clubs solidified his reputation as a reliable and skilled midfielder.

One of the highlights of Ojo’s career was his participation in the 2018 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco. As a member of the home-based Super Eagles, Ojo played a crucial role in the team’s journey to the finals, where they finished as runners-up.

ASVO FC, under the guidance of Coach Fatai Osho, is expected to benefit from Ojo’s vast experience and leadership on the field. The Beninese club aims to bolster their midfield with Ojo’s signing as they prepare for the upcoming season.

With this new move, Dayo Ojo continues to build on a career marked by significant achievements and steadfast dedication to the sport. Fans and followers of both Remo Stars and ASVO FC will be keen to see how Ojo’s influence and expertise impact his new team in the Beninese league.
