Remo Stars FC coach, Daniel Ogunmodede says he and his players have a victory mindset heading into their CAF Champions League opener against ASFAR of Morocco.
Though he admitted that some key players will miss Sunday’s game in Ikenne, Ogun State, due to injuries, Ogunmodede stressed that the team is poised to get maximum points.
Sports247.ng was present during the pre-match briefing, as Ogunmodede further disclosed that he will be counting on a number of new players to eke out victory.
“The new players are important to us,” said Ogunmodede, as he prepares to battle the team that sent his club packing from the CAF Confederation Cup two years ago.
“We lost some important players at the end of the season, and we had to bring in new ones to replace their importance.
“We will look to some of the new players like Alex Oyowah and Ifeanyi Anaemena. They are extremely important, that’s why they are here.
“Our only mindset is to win. The state of mind of the players is important.”
Ogunmodede concluded with an assurance that all his players are ready for Sunday’s epic clash at Remo Stars Stadium.
“As for me, I base my selection of the readiness of my players.
“They are all psychologically ready for the match, but there will always have to priorities in the selection of the 11 that will start,” he posited.
