“Coming from a ground where we lost to Shooting Stars last time, and you know how painful this could be to us,” Ogunmodede remarked. “The players really wanted to get back to their winning ways. For me, I think they were a little bit under pressure.”
Despite the pressure, Ogunmodede commended his players for their resilience and determination to secure a victory. He emphasized the significance of maintaining composure and handling the pressure effectively, especially considering the opportunity to climb to third place on the table.
“We know what it means, mostly that during the game, we realized we had the opportunity to come back third on the table while we were receiving information that other team results were not favorable,” Ogunmodede explained. “So it brought a lot of pressure to them, which is understandable. But along the line, the most important thing is how they deal with the pressure, which they did absolutely well.”
The coach’s acknowledgement of his team’s ability to perform under pressure reflects their mental fortitude and resilience, key attributes that contributed to their comeback victory over Bendel Insurance.
