“It was a good game,” Okon noted, likening the match to playing with younger brothers. He acknowledged that while the term “friendly match” might suggest a more relaxed approach, it does not diminish the match’s importance.

“Even though it is called a friendly match, it does not reduce its importance. It’s a football game, so anything can happen. It’s a game, so we put in all our effort and our best. Even though it is a friendly, you must come out with a positive result.”

When asked about the change in momentum in the second half, where Remo Stars significantly increased their lead, Okon explained that their coach urged them to step up their performance.

“The coach told us that this is not how we normally play, so we needed to change from the way we were in the first half, to put more effort, put more attack, give more transition to make sure our goals were coming.”

Okon expressed satisfaction with the final result, reinforcing the idea that a successful outcome is always the goal, regardless of the nature of the match. “Yeah, we’re satisfied. It’s a game, so we are okay.”

This sentiment from Aniekeme Okon highlights the professional attitude and commitment of Remo Stars Football Club, even in friendly encounters, reflecting their dedication to continuous improvement and success.
