Referees Development Committee Announce Dates for NPFL Referees’ Mid Season Physical Fitness Test And Training Program

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF Referee Development Committee has announced commencement dates for the mid season physical fitness test for NPFL Referees, Sports247 reports.

The program will involve the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL’s Referees and those of the Federation International Football Association, FIFA badge referees including their assistants.

In a circular issued by the Head of Refereeing Unit of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Hon Sani Zubairu ( Fifa Rtd) dated 16th January, 2025 which was cited by our correspondent, the physical fitness test will take place from January 22nd to 27th 2025 in Abuja.

The physical fitness test will take place in two batches, group A and group B.

We gathered that Group A which consists of International Referees and Assistants and they are expected to arrive and have their medicals on January 22nd, 2025 while group B consists of others; they are expected to arrive and have their medicals on the 24th of January, 2025.

Passing Referee Physical Fitness test as well medical teat is a prerequisite for officials before they can over a football match and this test comes often as referees are expected to stay fit medically and physically for proper interpretation of the rules of the game.
