Secretary of Lagos State Football Association, Akeem Rabiu-Okikioposu has come out to give real reason why Finals of Lagos FA Cup did not hold as slated.
The Lagos FA Cup finals was supposed to hold Sunday but the much anticipated finals was put on hold.
Speaking with Sports247 recently, Akeem said due to the ongoing National FA cup,the Lagos FA board members led by Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi put the finals on hold because of the involvement of Lagos clubs representatives in the national challenge cup.
“We are ready but the teams that want to play in the finals in both male and female category are in the national assignment so there is no way we can play the finals. As soon as our teams are no more in the national challenge cup competition, we would fix another date for the Lagos FA Cup finals,” he said.
Akeem however apologized to Lagos fans for the delay saying that the finals would hold as soon as possible. He noted that the title sponsor, organisers have put all necessary thing in place to make this year’s Lagos FA Cup finals a memorable one
