Players of Nigeria’s CAF Confederation Cup representatives, Rangers International of Enugu have been rated as very focused, fully committed and professional, such that they will recover quickly from their ongoing break for Christmas and New Year.
This is the verdict of the club’s media officer, Norbert Okolie, who sports247.ng reports has parried insinuations in many quarters that allowing the players go on break is detrimental to their CAF Confederation Cup ambitions.
With the draw ceremony for the play-off round of the continental clubs’ competition holding Friday in Cairo, Egypt, many of the Flying Antelopes’ fans are worried that the players are not staying focused on the mission at hand, but Okolie has doused those worries.
On the other hand, Okolie said that the club management wants the best for the players and gave them seven days break for them to refresh by meeting their families and loved ones.
The Coal City outfit’s media officer added that the players are expected to come back stronger, fresh and focused from their yuletide break.
Okolie added: “The players are human and needed to see their kids, parents and well wishers above all receive parental blessing.
“We want the players to meet their loved ones and come back stronger, fresh and with a positive mind set for the year 2019 challenges.
“The break would have been more but for the busy schedule, the players have to meet up with heir preparations for the ongoing continental league matches and the league which commences on January 2019.”
