Rangers’ Chief Coach Ekeh Ekenedilichukwu Downplays Goalless Draw Away To Bayelsa United

The chief coach of Rangers International of Enugu, Ekeh Ekenedilichukwu has downplayed his team’s inability to score against Bayelsa United of Yenagoa in their matchday 23 fixture of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) on Sunday.

Sports247 gathered that many of The Flying Antelopes’ supporters are worried that their darling team failed to make their dominant form count in the game at Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa, but Ekenedilichukwu insists they gave a very good account of themselves.

It means Rangers International FC enter this weekend’s home game against log leaders Remo Stars of Ikenne on a score sheet of two wins, two defeats and a draw so far this season, but Coach Ekeh said there’s no cause for alarm.

Ekeh echoed the words of his technical adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu, as he stressed, “It was a wonderful outing. Both sides played wonderful football and, at the end of the day, it ended goalless. For us to come all the way from Enugu to pick a point in Bayelsa is not so easy.

“Thankfully, the boys put in their best, and they tried to convert some chances, but the goals just didn’t come. Some days are like that in football, and you just have to accept it. Everything is okay. That’s football. Nobody is perfect. The game was okay.”

The Coal City side will now aim for their third win of the season this Sunday; when they host Remo Stars, who only managed to get a slim 2-1 win over Kano Pillars on Saturday.
